We are creating innovative pathways to develop clinical leaders, and we are now looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist to join our expanding team. A vacancy has arisen within our Blood Borne Viruses team, the current post holder has worked closely with the wider MDT forming a strong pharmacy presence in the team and pushing the boundaries of practice.

You will integrate as part of the MDT being the recognised expert on medicines within the BBV service working closely with medical and nursing staff ensuring delivery of excellent care to BBV patients across Fife. Within Fife there are currently 200+ patients on HIV medicines and a similar number receiving medicines for Hepatitis B. All patients are discussed and monitored through a series of MDT meetings, at which this post holder will play a vital role. Ideally a prescriber, you will manage a caseload of patients in an outpatient setting to ensure safe, appropriate and clinically effective use of medicines.

You will be supported by the Lead Pharmacist for Public Health to further develop the role of pharmacy within the team ensuring patients receive the best possible outcomes from their medicines. Successful applicants will be supported to advance their career in line with advanced practice frameworks.

The NHS Fife Pharmacy Service has undergone an ambitious programme of transformation and integration. It serves a population of approximately 380,000 people and is provided by an integrated team of around 300 Pharmacy staff, including Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Support Workers, Nurses, and Administrators. The team work across Acute and Community hospital sites, General Practices, Mental Health services, and a range of specialist teams. Partnership working is at the core of our values, and we work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, including our Community Pharmacy colleagues, to deliver the highest quality care for everyone in Fife.

There are opportunities to become involved in a range of projects across the integrated Pharmacy service as well as shaping the future vision for the service. As part of our staff engagement and leadership, our Pharmacy Senior Leadership hold monthly staff briefing sessions to update the team on new developments, celebrate achievements and to hear ideas from our staff.

This fabulous region is not far from Scotland's major cities, with Edinburgh just to the south, Dundee and Perth to the north, and Glasgow to the south west.
