Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Public Relations Officer to enhance our organisation's public image and foster positive relationships with our community, stakeholders, and media outlets. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing communication strategies, overseeing social media platforms, and ensuring consistent messaging across all channels. Duties

  • Develop and implement effective public relations strategies to promote organisational objectives.
  • Manage and maintain the organisation's social media presence, creating engaging content tailored to various platforms.
  • Coordinate press releases, media enquiries, and organise press conferences or events as required.
  • Monitor media coverage and public opinion, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with journalists, community leaders, and other key stakeholders.
  • Organise community outreach programmes and organise participation in relevant events to enhance visibility.
  • Ensure all communication materials align with organisational branding guidelines and messaging standards.
  • Handle crisis communication efficiently to protect the organisation's reputation during challenging situations.

Experience

  • Experience in public relations or communications roles, ideally within a similar sector.
  • Strong understanding of social media management tools and digital marketing strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft compelling messages.
  • Demonstrable ability to build relationships with media personnel and community representatives.
  • Organised, proactive, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Experience in organising events or community engagement activities is desirable but not essential. This position provides a rewarding platform for a motivated individual eager to influence public perception positively while developing professional skills within a supportive environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £41,800.00-£43,000.00 per year
