Tasks and responsibilities:

Main purpose of job

The Programme Director will lead the successful delivery of complex, high-value programmes and projects for major global clients within the fashion and lifestyle logistics sector. This role will oversee the UK Project Management function, ensuring strategic alignment, operational excellence, and consistent delivery of value across multiple sites.

As a senior leader within Bleckmann UK, this role will be a key leadership link between internal teams, technology partners, and clients. The Programme Director will drive innovation, automation, and continuous improvement in programme delivery standards across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the delivery of multiple concurrent projects and programmes, ensuring they meet time, cost, and quality expectations.
  • Serve as a senior contact for key clients on major programmes, ensuring strong relationships and trust.
  • Partner with internal functions, including Operations, Automation, Engineering, IT, Finance, HR etc to ensure seamless programme execution.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align programme outcomes with company strategy and client goals.
  • Support business development efforts through programme scoping, bid support, and client presentations.
  • Lead, and develop a team of Project Managers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Champion innovation and automation in logistics programme delivery, leveraging emerging technologies to enhance efficiency and client satisfaction.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best practices across project lifecycles.
  • Stay current on industry trends in supply chain automation, digitalisation, and sustainability relevant to the fashion and lifestyle sectors.

Profile:

Key skills and qualifications:

  • Proven experience in programme or project leadership roles within logistics, supply chain, or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of the fashion, retail, or lifestyle sectors and their operational demands.
  • Track record of delivering complex, high-value projects across multiple geographies.
  • Expertise in automation technologies and their application within logistics and fulfilment environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including experience working with global clients.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to manage budgets and project profitability.
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, with experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Exposure to digital transformation or warehouse automation projects.

Project/programme management certification (e.g., MSP, PMP, PRINCE2).
