Contract type: Full time (35 Hours per week).
Fixed Term from 1st January 2026 to 31st December 2026.
Location: Usher Institute, Edinburgh Bioquarter
We will also consider requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular (weekly) on-campus working. The Usher Institute expects a minimum of 40%* on campus working.
The Opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Edinburgh Clinical Trials Unit (ECTU).
ECTU supports the development and delivery of research proposals which answer important questions that will have a bearing on treatment and service delivery within the NHS. ECTU's aim is to ensure the delivery of high quality regulated and non-regulated randomised controlled trials.
Working within a team of TMSOs, you will provide practical support and assistance across the ECTU Trial Management Team to ensure the smooth running of trials within the portfolio following relevant procedures. Particular responsibility will be to ensure that vital trial documentation is maintained and that the team are kept informed of progress against agreed timelines. This will involve arranging and attending meetings, updating trial documentation and responding to site queries.
You will have at least one years' experience in clinical trials or in a research co-ordination environment.

Your skills and attributes for success:
Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly as part of a team demonstrating excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, (specifically excellent attention to detail).
Experience /knowledge of working to the principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
Proven experience of creating, processing, updating and version control of documents.
Experience of planning, organising meeting and taking meeting minutes.
Proven experience of managing own time & efficiently prioritising and managing own workload
