Swansea, City and County of Swansea, United Kingdom Crown Prosecution Service Full time £28,000 - £40,000 per year

The Crown Prosecution Service is recruiting casework assistants to join our casework divisions and regional teams. Please note that you can only apply for one role – either casework assistant - casework divisions, or casework assistant - regional areas.

About the Crown Prosecution Service

At the Crown Prosecution Service, we are responsible for delivering justice through the independent and effective prosecution of crime. As the principal prosecuting authority across England and Wales, the nature and diversity of cases we advise on and prosecute means our work is often emotionally challenging and complex. As such we employ over 7,000 individuals who think objectively, act professionally, show the utmost respect for others and continually strive for excellence.

About the role

Casework assistants have a crucial role helping us to secure justice for victims of crime. You support our prosecution teams by preparing case files and serving documents for hearings in the magistrates' and Crown Court. You are the first point of contact for the police and other criminal justice partners, working together to ensure all evidence and facts relating to a case are recorded. Your customer service helps to maintain public confidence in our work – you respond professionally to queries and ensure that any issues are escalated promptly.

About you

You don't need specific qualifications or experience to apply – if you share our values and commitment to public service, we'd like to hear from you. We provide full training and a range of learning and development opportunities to support your career progression. Excellent written, verbal and digital communication skills are essential – including knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications.

About our benefits

At the Crown Prosecution Service, we pride ourselves on providing benefits that ensure our employees' needs are central. We want to ensure you can thrive at work and home, offering support to achieve a balance. This includes flexible working hours, flexibility to support caring responsibilities and a family-friendly approach to work. We also offer a range of benefits including:

  • 3 days paid volunteering leave
  • an extra privilege day for the King's birthday
