**Job description**:
To support the business area in achieving its fraud error objective, providing evidence about a suspicious or questionable document using a variety of scientific processes and methods. Gather intelligence on travel and identity document fraud and provide specialist advice and forgery detection training to stakeholders.
**Responsibilities**
- Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:_
- Build/maintain internal/external stakeholder networks to share professional knowledge and know-how increasing awareness through formal/informal bulletins and document fraud working meetings.
- Provide training, mentoring and assistance to colleagues for their continuing professional development.
- Draw on own and others technical knowledge and experience to make professional judgements in the field of document verification.
- Identify document fraud threats/emerging trends and escalate to SMT and Operational Areas accordingly.
- Attending legal proceedings at court. Providing expert opinion on examination findings.
- Analyse suspect documents and manage and organise evidential/intelligence packages presented to enforcement agencies, ensuring all aspects of legislation/National Intelligence Model (NIM) and associated time scales are observed.
- Adhere to Health & Safety Policies, Data Protection, Security Policies and Equality Act and understand relevant employment law.

- Confidence to make your own decisions based on your knowledge and professional findings.
- Keen eye for detail and a working knowledge of legislation.
