Play Worker - Breakfast & Afterschool Clubs

Location: Leigh Academy Horsmonden, TN12 8NJ

Hours: Part-time, 22 hours per week - Monday–Friday, to cover Breakfast Club (7:40am-8:40am) and After School (3:20pm - 6pm)

Job Type: Term-Time Only

Our new breakfast and after school clubs at Leigh Academy Horsmonden have just launched - and we are looking for I am little, enthusiastic Playworkers to help our new setting flourish.

If you enjoy working with children, love leading fun activities, and want flexible term time hours that fit around family or study, this could be the perfect role for you.

This role is ideal for anyone local to Horsmonden, Paddock Wood or Tunbridge Wells who enjoys working with children and wants a fulfilling part-time leadership role during term time.

Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Leading fun and engaging play activities
  • Supervising children aged 4–11 in a school club setting
  • Ensuring safeguarding and safety procedures are always followed
  • Serving snacks and promoting healthy habits
  • Working closely with parents, carers, and colleagues

What We're Looking For:

Essential:

  • Aged 18+ (due to insurance and Ofsted regulations)
  • Experience working with children in schools, nurseries, or play settings
  • Confidence supporting play in a structured but fun environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Desirable (but not required):

  • A childcare qualification (or working towards one)
  • First Aid, Safeguarding, or Food Hygiene certificates
  • Full UK driving licence (for flexibility across sites)
