Job Profile Summary
The Digital Clinical Informatics (DCI) Coordinator provides hands-on implementation and ongoing support of clinical informatics projects at facility level, working under the guidance of the Digital Clinical Informatics Lead. This role focuses on day-to-day operational support, user training, and ensuring effective utilisation of clinical systems within a smaller facility environment.
The DCI Coordinator serves as the local clinical informatics expert, providing direct support to clinical teams whilst ensuring alignment with divisional standards and strategies. This role combines practical clinical knowledge with digital literacy to bridge the gap between clinical practice and technology implementation.
Working closely with facility clinical teams and reporting to the Digital Clinical Informatics Lead, the DCI Coordinator ensures clinical applications are effectively supported and utilised whilst contributing to the broader organisational clinical informatics strategy

Essential Qualifications And Experience
Clinical Background
- Clinical Experience: Minimum 3 years post-qualification clinical experience in acute healthcare setting
- Clinical Practice: Recent hands-on clinical experience to understand current clinical workflows
Informatics & Technology
- Clinical Systems Experience: Minimum 1 year experience with electronic health records and clinical systems
- Digital Literacy: Confident user of healthcare technology with ability to learn new systems quickly
- Training Experience: Experience providing clinical education or training to healthcare colleagues
- Problem-solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot clinical system issues
Communication & Leadership
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for diverse clinical audiences
- Local Leadership: Experience working independently whilst maintaining connection to wider team
- Change Management: Understanding of change management principles in clinical environments
- Documentation Skills: Ability to create clear, concise documentation and training materials
Desirable Qualifications
- Registered Healthcare Professional: Current registration with appropriate professional body (NMC, HCPC, or GMC) - Highly desirable
- Clinical Informatics Training: Formal training or certification in clinical informatics
- Project Experience: Experience supporting clinical improvement projects
- Teaching Qualification: Teaching or training qualification relevant to healthcare education
- Multiple Facility Experience: Experience working across different clinical environments
- Quality Improvement: Understanding of clinical quality and performance improvement methodologies
