Salary: £25,584 – £32,000 per annum (£12.29 – £15.38 per hour, depending on experience & qualifications)

Hours: 20:00 – 08:00, two-week rota (Week 1: 3 nights | Week 2: 4 nights)

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (40 hours/week)

About Us

Thomas Bata Children's Home is a small, nurturing home for young people aged 8–17 who have experienced early adversity, abuse, neglect, or disrupted attachment. We provide a safe, stable, and trauma-informed environment where care is delivered with warmth, structure, and reflection, in line with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.

The Role

We're looking for an Awake Night Residential Support Worker to join our dedicated team. You'll be responsible for ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and emotional support of children and young people throughout the night. This includes carrying out welfare checks, responding to incidents, maintaining security, and ensuring the home is calm, safe, and welcoming for the morning.

About You

Essential:

  • Experience working with children/young people in residential or similar settings
  • Understanding of safeguarding & child protection
  • Ability to stay alert, calm, and responsive overnight
  • Strong communication & recording skills
  • Team player with the ability to work independently

Desirable:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to achieve)
  • First Aid, Fire Safety, or other relevant training

Additional Information

  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS and adherence to safer recruitment processes
