Job Title: Operations Specialist - Corporate Actions (12 Month Fixed Term Contract)

Department: Operations & Middle Office

Location: London

The Operations Specialist will be responsible for monitoring, coordinating, booking and communicating all corporate actions to the relevant trading teams. Further they will have daily responsibilities revolving around desk support, same day trade matching, full reconciliations and PM/broker/counterparty queries as well as ad-hoc PnL issues relating to corporate action bookings and entitlements.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Actively managing the Corporate Action process for the European business
  • Daily trade / cash / position / Market value reconciliations
  • Interacting with the trading groups and several Prime Brokers (PBs)
  • Funding queries on large cross-boarder deals
  • Intraday trade monitoring - working with PMs/Execution desk/IT to ensure correct capture.
  • Resolving position/Market Value/trade discrepancies
  • Mitigating risk by ensuring timely completion and reporting of all trade and position breaks on T+1
  • Providing useful and regular MIS on event volume and complexity
  • Educate and assist team members on all asset servicing issues
  • Act as a primary contact for all EMEA related asset servicing queries and issues
  • Provide assistance for the development of proprietary systems

Qualifications/Skills Required

  • Understanding of Corporate Actions and how to process from front to back desirable.
  • A practical working knowledge of equity swap mechanics in a Buy vs Sell side environment beneficial
  • Excellent excel skills and familiarity with SQL
  • Ability to implement and maintain new systems, procedures, and controls
  • Strong and confident communication and interpersonal skills with clear ability to be able to face off to the trading desk and PMs
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Detail oriented; Demonstrates thoroughness and strong ownership of work
  • Must be able to work independently using well-honed analytical skills and abstract reasoning
  • Good team player with a strong willingness to participate and help others
  • Able to prioritize in a fast moving, high pressure, constantly changing environment; Good sense of urgency
  • Willingness to undertake new challenges and opportunities should they present themselves
