About usStudent and Registry Services is one of the larger Professional Services divisions at UCL, providing essential services to UCL's 50,000 students, 160,000 applicants and for supporting academic departments and administrative staff in delivering a high-quality student experience. UCL Student Support and Wellbeing Services (SSWS) provides information, advice and welfare support for all registered students, including delivery of related student events. UCL aims to extend its rich on-campus student experience and high standard support provision. About the roleThe work of the Student Support and Wellbeing Co-ordinator will be coordinated through Student Support and Wellbeing and required to work across UCL's campuses. The postholder will support students primarily on the Bloomsbury and UCL East campuses, working alongside colleagues across UCL to strengthen the local support provision and facilitate effective connection with students. The postholder will be required to work on campus and be flexible to work from various UCL sites as and when required.
The Student Support and Wellbeing Co-ordinator will complement the work of mental health and disability advisers, student advisers, teaching and learning staff, and peer support programmes which are available locally. This post will be integral in helping to foster a sense of community and belonging across our campuses.
The postholder will provide key administrative support to the Student Support and Wellbeing Team. This includes responding to Student Enquiries, answering the telephone, booking appointments, sharing key information and coordinating projects. The postholder will provide advice, liaise with services and UCL staff to ensure support for disabled students and prospective students and those who may be affected by wellbeing and/or mental health conditions.
This role will be fixed-term until 30 October 2026 in the first instance.
About youApplicants must be knowledgeable in issues relating to student welfare and community support services and must have an understanding of the UK higher education sector, UK disability legislation, Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) and confidentiality and data protection issues.
You will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, together with excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with a diverse range of people. You must be effective in prioritising tasks whist managing a demanding workload and be able to remain calm under pressure, for example when dealing with challenging and stressful situations.
