Retention Marketing Manager

Location: London

Reports to: Head of Growth

Start date: ASAP

Salary: Competitive with equity options

1. The Role

We're looking for a strategic and data-driven Retention Marketing Manager to own and elevate our customer retention and lifecycle marketing. This is a newly created role and a critical hire as we enter our next phase of growth. Your mission: deepen customer engagement, reduce churn and maximise lifetime value.

This is about more than Email and SMS. It's about creating an ecosystem of value that keeps customers coming back with loyalty built through communication, product experience and brand trust.

You'll work cross-functionally with Growth, Product, Brand, Operations and Creative to define the frameworks, build the systems and drive the execution that fuels retention. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on ownership, is obsessed with metrics and wants to help shape the future of one of the UK's most exciting brands.

2. About Puresport

Puresport is a performance wellness brand built For the Long Run. We're here to challenge shortcut culture and raise the standard for what people should expect from the category.

In a market flooded with gimmicks and false promises, we're building something different: science-backed products, a brand rooted in trust and a community built around real progress. Since launching in 2019, we've launched category-defining products across performance, recovery, and hydration, and built one of the UK's most engaged communities online and IRL.

Backed by Red Rice and Five Seasons Ventures, we're now entering a period of scaled growth and retention is key to that success.

3. The Role

As Retention Marketing Manager, you'll own the customer lifecycle strategy and be responsible for ensuring that we not only convert but retain customers in a meaningful, measurable way.

You'll work closely with the Head of Growth and across functions to build and optimise our entire post-purchase journey across subscription and non-subscription customers. You'll use data to uncover insights, build strategies and drive continuous improvement in LTV, engagement, and loyalty.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading the design and delivery of the retention and lifecycle strategy across all cohorts.
  • Analysing customer data, churn patterns and campaign performance to identify new growth levers.
  • Building frameworks and metrics that define how we understand and improve customer LTV.
  • Managing CRM channels end-to-end: auditing current playbooks, creating automated flows and executing high-performing campaigns.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally to integrate retention into new product launches, creative testing, CX, and brand storytelling.
  • Launching and managing weekly email and SMS campaigns to educate, convert and retain customers.
  • Setting a high bar for reporting, testing, segmentation and attribution.
  • Creating a retention culture that is insight-led, performance-driven and always improving.
  • This is a high-impact, high-ownership role at the intersection of product, growth and brand.

4. What You'll Bring

  • 4+ years experience within customer retention, including strategy, planning, execution and analysis
  • Deep expertise in CRM tools, especially Klaviyo and Attentive (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience building automated lifecycle flows and performance-driving broadcast campaigns
  • Strong technical understanding of customer segmentation, attribution, reporting and churn reduction strategies
  • Highly analytical mindset with the ability to translate insights into action
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills; comfortable collaborating across creative, ops, growth and CX
  • A passion for wellness, performance and helping people pursue sustainable progress
  • A bias toward ownership, speed and continuous learning

5. Why This Is a Unique Opportunity

This is more than just a retention role, it's your chance to build the foundation for long-term customer love at one of the UK's most dynamic brands.

You'll be joining at a moment of real momentum: breakthrough products, a powerful community, and a clear strategic path. But the retention playbook is still being written and you'll be the one writing it.

If you're ready to take on meaningful ownership, shape how retention is done, and help build something that lasts, we'd love to hear from you.

For the Long Run.
