Overview

We are seeking a Residential Support Worker, you must have a passion and commitment for working with children and young people and making a positive difference to their lives. You do not need experience to join our team, we will provide you with an excellent training programme and also we will offer you development to commence your rewarding career.

You will be responsible for working with the Manager in a children's home, along with building and developing positive relationships with our young people and to encourage them to participate fully in opportunities offered within our homes, along with supporting them to complete everyday tasks. In addition you will also be building up positive working relationships with external stakeholders.

We are looking for:

  • The ability to work shifts (07.00am to 23.00pm) and sleep ins.
  • Have an understanding of the relevant legislation relating to the care of young people, ideally experience of working within a residential setting, experience of working with young people that have emotional and behavioural disorders, and, or leaning disabilities.
  • A diploma in residential childcare (or equivalent), level 3 or level 4, but this is not essential, but must be willing to study for this.
  • Applicants must be over the age of 21.
  • Have a full UK driving licence (required).
  • Right to work in the UK (we do not offer sponsorship).

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
