Job Summary

You will be dealing with translation projects from start to finish which means the success of each project is in your hands. You need to show attention to detail, have a can-do attitude, enjoy a busy environment and be adept at multi-tasking. One of the most important attributes you can bring to this role is to stay calm when times are busy. The translation industry is very deadline-driven and often things happen simultaneously, which is exactly what makes it so fast-paced and exciting.

Key responsibilities:

  • Planning, scheduling and monitoring translation projects ensuring the timely delivery of projects
  • Sourcing and coordination of translators and other language professionals including negotiating timelines and prices
  • Proofreading and QA-checking of translations
  • Effective verbal and written communication with clients, linguists and colleagues to ensure customer satisfaction including answering incoming calls from clients and linguists in a professional and courteous manner
  • Monitoring the team inbox including dealing with emails from clients and translators to maintain good relationships
  • Responsible for building and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers to ensure a good quality, stable supply chain.
  • Build relationships with clients to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
  • Prepare clear and accurate quotes for clients in a timely manner
  • Understand and adhere to individual client and project instructions
  • Data entry and administrative tasks
  • Work effectively in a team environment

Education, skills and competencies:

  • You will be DBS checked (Company will fund)
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills
  • Strong communication, both written and oral
  • A commitment to delivering excellent customer service
  • The ability to work under time pressure and meet deadlines in a team environment
  • Excellent computer literacy including Outlook and MS Office, as well as the ability to learn new software

Desirable:

  • Degree in a relevant field (e.g. Languages, Translation, Linguistics etc.)
  • Previous experience within the Translation industry
  • Knowledge of a TMS
  • Knowledge of CAT Tools
  • Knowledge of Translation Memory
  • Understanding of Machine Translation and AI for the language industry
