Kingsmill Industries are a leading manufacturer of earthing, lightning and surge protection solutions, both in the United Kingdom and globally and we are seeking a Business Development Manager to join our Team in Pinxton.
This is an important customer facing role, you present the public face of the company and you must be aware of how the customer perceives you at all times. The position demands a high degree of self-motivation, drive and enthusiasm. The role is UK based.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Relationship Management – Build relationships with new clients, gauge their needs and develop proposals to address them. Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers. Pitching sales and products to both new and old clients.
Market Assessment and Development – Identify new business opportunities, including new markets, new clients, new product opportunities. Create strategies to successfully reach new opportunities.
Collaboration – Work closely with management and team colleagues to follow up quotations and provide feedback together with supplying quotations and technical support when requested. Feedback sales, project, quotation and competitor activity information.
Administration – Provide weekly call plans and monthly sales activity reports, sales forecast data (monthly) and during the budget process. Ensure your time in an area is maximized and well prepared at all times with a supply of literature, samples, presentation material and business cards.
Organisation – Prepare in advance for sales calls, understand your customer by being up to date with sales call history as well as quotations submitted and orders received in order to set objectives for your call. Good time management skills and ability to prioritize are integral to success in this role.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Ideal candidates would have a background that encompasses the competencies cited below.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
· Product knowledge of the earthing and lightning protection market together with its products and applications (desirable), or that of a related electrical product.
· Education – a bachelor's degree in business, marketing or a related field, however, candidates with college-level education and relevant experience will also be considered if they can demonstrate proven expertise in this or an associated product and market.
· Experience – your previous role(s) will have given you: the ability to vary the sales pitch to different people and levels of management, understand a prospective customer's needs and offer solutions, perseverance and resilience when faced with rejection.
· Communication Skills – excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to be persuasive.
· IT skills – Microsoft Teams, Office and PowerPoint.
· Personal skills – willingness to work hard and achieve results with the ability to close a deal along with self-reliance, confidence and empathy.
· Confidence and ability to facilitate seminars and presentations.
· Smart/presentable in appearance at all times when with customers.
· Driving Licence – a full and valid UK driving license is required as the role necessitates travel within the UK and Eire.
