Are you an experienced Business Development professional ready to take the lead on driving new client growth for a leading UK law firm?
We're working with a highly regarded Top 100 Commercial Law Firm seeking a Head of New Client Relations to shape and execute their strategy for winning new commercial and public sector clients across the UK. This is a newly created role with a clear mandate: to expand the firm's footprint through proactive relationship development, intelligent targeting, and a strategic approach to business growth.
The Role
You'll take ownership of the firm's new client acquisition strategy — working closely with Partners, Sector Heads and the wider BD team to identify opportunities, open doors, and build long-term, high-value relationships.
Your focus will be on:
- Developing and delivering a targeted plan to win new commercial and public sector clients across key sectors.
- Building a strong personal network in the West of England and South Wales, while also supporting national growth.
- Working alongside Partners to develop compelling propositions, pitches and pursuit strategies.
- Tracking and reporting on new business pipeline and outcomes, ensuring strategic alignment with firm priorities.
About You
You'll bring a strong track record in business development or client acquisition within professional services – ideally legal, accountancy, or consulting.
We're looking for someone who is:
- Currently operating at Manager or Senior Manager level, ready to step up to a leadership position.
- Skilled in developing relationships with senior decision-makers and driving complex, consultative sales cycles.
- Commercially astute, confident, and able to influence at Partner level.
- Based within easy reach of the West of England or South Wales, with the flexibility to travel nationally as required.
