Bristol Drugs Project (BDP) is a charity providing harm reduction and treatment services for people who are experiencing a negative relationship with drugs and/or alcohol. With 36 years of experience, their goal is to support people towards the changes theywant to see in their lives no matter what they may be.

They are now seeking to hire a brand-new role of Head of Business Development. The role is central to ensuring that the charity operates efficiently and effectively in supporting its service delivery and is a key role in the future success of our strategy.As such, we are seeking a visionary leader who is forward-thinking and can help the charity deliver their ambitious plans by leading from the front to drive sustainability and impact.

The role is multifaceted and will cover:

- Ensuring that performance is measured accurately throughout the organisation and is then managed in order to meet contractual demands, quality governance and inform service development.
- working with managers and staff to develop the performance management culture in the organisation.
- A key feature of this role is the ability to write successful commissioning bids that secure present and future funding.
- Keeping an overview of policy change, needs, emerging trends, health feedback and the wider drug and alcohol environment, both locally and nationally, in order to instigate research, inform contracts and promote responsive services.
- Experience of writing successful bids
- An understanding of the commissioning process
- Demonstrable ability to ensure that useful data is collected and used pro-actively in the charity’s interests.
