Location: Remote, with regular travel across Kent and neighbouring counties

Salary: £50,000 – £65,000 per annum (including performance bonus)

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday

We are seeking an experienced Responsible Individual / Social Care Consultant to provide strategic leadership, expert guidance, and operational oversight across a group of Ofsted-registered children's residential homes in Kent and surrounding counties. This is a senior role where you will influence best practice, support Registered Managers, and drive high-quality outcomes for children and young people.

As the Responsible Individual, you will ensure regulatory compliance, safeguarding excellence and continuous improvement across multiple homes, creating environments where young people are safe, supported, and able to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards.
• Provide consultancy, mentoring, and leadership coaching to Registered Managers to enhance service delivery.
• Lead on safeguarding, embedding a culture of safety, accountability, and transparency across all homes.
• Support teams in preparing for Ofsted inspections, aiming for consistent 'Good' and 'Outstanding' results.
• Oversee staffing, budgets, and operational planning to ensure efficient and effective service provision.
• Build strong professional relationships with local authorities, social workers, and regulatory bodies.
• Champion staff development, training, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Promote reflective practice, learning, and continuous improvement across all residential services.

About You

• Minimum 3 years' senior leadership or consultancy experience within children's residential care.
• NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent/working towards).
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, Ofsted inspection frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
• Proven success in service improvement and achieving positive inspection outcomes.
• Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across Kent and neighbouring counties.
• Passionate about delivering outstanding care for children and young people.
