MOBILE PLANT OPERATOR
Reporting to: General Foreman
Based: Needingworth Quarry PE27 4TA (lives within 30 mins)

PURPOSE
Mobile plant operators are directly responsible for the safe and proper operation and basic maintenance of any site machine in their control. To aid with the safe operation and delivery of all sectors within the Brice Aggregates group of businesses.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
· Operate Mobile plant with diligence and care, ensuring H&S parameters are strictly adhered to at all times.
· Perform daily equipment checks and record on the relevant documentation.
· Responsible for reporting any defects or concerns to the Quarry Manager without fail.
· Responsible for the cleaning of the working area in and out of the cab.
· Required to perform basic preventative maintenance tasks such as greasing and replenishing lubricants.
· To work as part of a team and will be expected to carry out a variety of tasks within the production process, which will include operating heavy mobile plant, such as FEL's, Excavators, Dumpers as well as operating fully PLC controlled fixed plants and manual labour for cleaning the plant.
· To be able to operate the machine in a safe and proper manner.
· To be able to operate any other mobile plant machines, as directed by Site Management, to which they are certificated in safe and proper manner.
· Report any accident/incidents to the Quarry Manager.
· To undertake other duties within their scope on the main processing plant in accordance with Site Management recommendations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· To be able to operate mobile plant as required including loading shovel and ADT (dumper)
· To adhere to the company health & safety policy.
· To adhere to the Quarry Regulations 1999.
· To comply with all aspects of the Brice Compliance Policy
· To ensure that all the business/operations are performed in accordance with instructions and procedures and in such a way so as to prevent any fraudulent activities taking place
· To comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and to observe the requirements of the Company Safety Policy and other relevant legislation
· To update all areas of knowledge as required to carry out the job with maximum effectiveness and to attend training/development courses as and when required
· To comply will all aspects of the HR Policies and Procedures of the Company
QUALIFICATIONS
· CPCS/MPQC/NPORS Certification desirable.
· Certification by EPIC to operate mobile plant.
· NVQ level 2 in mobile plant operations required following EPIC completion.
· Good knowledge around health and safety regulations and Quarry Regulations are required
SKILLS
· Able to follow precise instructions.
· Enjoy practical and manual activities.
· The ability to understand, follow and apply policies, practices and operating procedures.
EXPERIENCE
· Experience of working in a Quarry environment.
· Mobile plant operation and maintenance.
· Previous experience of operating large Quarry mobile plant such as Loading Shovels, Excavators, Dump Trucks, Bulldozer, Roller & Tractors.
· Full driving Licence.
