Job Summary
Family Circle Homes Ltd, is a children's care home dedicated to providing 24-hour care to a maximum of six male/female children and young individuals aged 11 to 17 years old, who have complex social and emotional needs including children with learning disability and autism. Our commitment is to foster the well-being and development of the children and young individuals entrusted to our care, and we hold ourselves to the highest standards of care provision.
Our approach centres around an individualised care model, working with children and young people who become actively engaged in our comprehensive care program.
We are seeking a compassionate Support Worker to provide care and assistance to individuals in need.
Responsibilities
- Providing emotional support and guidance to children and young people.
- Assisting with daily living tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and cleaning.
- Encouraging independence, self-esteem, and confidence.
- Supporting educational and recreational activities.
- Maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
- Collaborating with colleagues and professionals to develop care plans.
- Communicating effectively with children, families, and staff.
- Managing challenging behaviors and providing crisis intervention.
- Maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Participating in training and development to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Promoting socialization, friendships, and community integration.
- Respecting and promoting individuality, diversity, and cultural heritage.
- Ensuring confidentiality and data protection.
- Supporting contact with families and significant others.
- Contributing to the development of policies and procedures
Requirements
1. Age: 18+ years old
2. Qualifications:
- Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (or equivalent)
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
3. Experience:
- 6-12 months experience working with children and young people
- Experience in a children's residential care setting (desirable)
4. Skills:
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Emotional intelligence and empathy
- Conflict resolution and crisis management skills
5. Personal Qualities:
- Patient, understanding, and supportive
- Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
6. Certifications:
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Safeguarding Children certification (or willingness to obtain)
7. Background Checks:
- Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £15.00 per hour
