We are looking for a People Operations Coordinator to join a highly collaborative team and help drive operational excellence across global initiatives.
As a GEMC (Global Entity Management Committee) People Operations Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting the full employee lifecycle within the context of our GEMC projects, People Operations and entity management. This includes hiring and transfers, onboarding, career development, employment changes, and offboarding—particularly for employees affected by GEMC-related entity transitions or integrations.
We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.
About the role
As our next GEMC People Operations Coordinator, you will be at the heart of delivering exceptional HR support across global locations.
We are looking for a proactive coordinator to help maintain the accuracy and integrity of data in our HCM/HRIS systems, ensuring smooth payroll processing and compliance with GEMC governance, legal obligations, and audit requirements.
You will play a critical part in delivering operational excellence by:
- Managing new hire processes, including holiday entitlement calculations
- Overseeing HR actions in Workday through to completion in time for relevant payroll
- Resolving employee queries on payroll, benefits, and HR processes
- Producing monthly reports and data insights to the Senior Coordinator
- Performing data checks and validating exceptions to maintain accuracy
This position offers the chance to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment where adaptability and precision make a real impact.
About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience in providing high-quality administrative support and services
- Background in supporting global teams, working closely with business stakeholders
- Advanced MS Office skills, including data input, VLOOKUPs, and data transposition
- Confidence in collaborating with stakeholders globally at all levels and advising on payroll and benefits
- A proactive mindset with the desire to learn and grow
- The ability to make quick, sound decisions and prioritise effectively
- A team-oriented approach and enjoyment of working in a busy, collaborative setting
- Hands-on HR environment experience, with a strong understanding of compliance and process integrity would be an advantage
