Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom Gearset Full time £45,000 - £55,000 per year
At Gearset, we believe in empowering our employees to achieve their best work. This commitment starts with an exceptional employee experience, delivered through accurate operations and proactive support. As People Coordinator, you will own the day-to-day operations across the employee lifecycle - including onboarding, changes, parental leave, offboarding, benefits administration, visas, and maintaining accurate HRIS data. You will also support wellbeing initiatives, manage relationships with key suppliers, keep People information in Notion up to date, and identify opportunities to improve processes as we scale.
This role requires exceptional accuracy, organisation, proactivity, and a customer-first mindset.
What's the opportunity for a People Coordinator at Gearset?
  • Become the operational backbone of a high-growth, global tech company, ensuring critical People processes run flawlessly and supporting our ambitious scaling plans.
  • Gain deep, end-to-end exposure across the entire employee lifecycle (onboarding, benefits, visas, leave management), establishing yourself as an expert in HR operations.
  • Drive significant impact by proactively identifying and implementing process efficiencies, moving beyond simple administration to contribute directly to the scalability of the People function.
  • Take on the responsibility of managing confidential data and key supplier relationships, building your professional judgement and collaborative skills in a supportive, high-integrity environment.
What you'll achieve
  • Ensure every employee's journey, from hiring through to offboarding, is smooth, professional, and consistently high-quality.
  • Maintain the highest level of data integrity within our HRIS, directly enabling accurate reporting and operational excellence for the People Team and wider business.
  • Own and manage the administrative and documentation processes for starters, leavers, internal changes, and parental leave, ensuring full compliance and a positive experience.
  • Coordinate and administer all employee benefits and visa/right-to-work processes, serving as the key liaison with external providers.
  • Proactively identify and implement improvements to People processes and documentation to drive efficiency and scalability as the business grows.
  • Provide timely, helpful support as the first point of contact for employee queries, building trust and ensuring the team feels supported.
About you
  • Previous experience in an HR coordination or administration role.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a relentless focus on data accuracy and integrity.
  • A naturally warm, helpful, and professional communication style.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and reliable.
  • High integrity and professionalism when handling confidential and sensitive information, alongside good judgement and critical thinking.
Great to haves
  • Previous experience supporting key administrative processes such as visa administration or managing benefit updates.
