Experienced Director Opportunity: Loan Capital Markets:
Help to shape the future of European corporate financing.

We are seeking an established professional to join our Loan Capital Markets (LCM) team in London, a critical pillar within our Debt Capital Markets business.

This role will involve coverage of clients within our core geographical locations outside the Benelux. These include UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and the Nordics. This role will involve a particular focus on our German portfolio and regional growth opportunities therein and therefore fluency in German is essential.

This high-impact role offers the opportunity to arrange syndicated corporate loan transactions across Europe (excluding Benelux), driving origination, structuring and distribution for some of the region's most Significant Borrowers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Covering a diverse portfolio, including our established Food and Agriculture business along with our rapidly expanding Energy Transition franchise and the newly announced growth areas including Technology and Built Environment.
  • Engaging with our corporate client base across the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and the Nordics.
  • Originating, structuring and executing syndicated loan transactions where Rabobank is taking a lead role, including underwritten and best efforts transactions.
  • Negotiation and coordinating the documentation process when in a lead role. This includes facility agreements, term sheets etc as well as all distribution materials.
  • Growing the loan platform by doing more with our existing clients across Europe as well as working to support new clients.
  • In support of RMs, contributing to the development of other non-lending business opportunities (e.g. clients, cross-selling, income channels, products etc.).
  • Representing the Bank (alongside RMs) at client presentations/discussions/meetings/professional events and ensure effective and transparent communication.
  • Building and maintaining bank distribution contacts.
  • Contributing meaningfully to the overall team P&L.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Financial Analysis and Credit Skills: Demonstrate ability to analyse financial data, assess credit risk, and make informed decisions related to lending and capital markets.
  • Syndication and workstream coordination: Knowledge of the syndication process with ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously. Effective coordination to ensure smooth deal execution.
  • Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate terms, agreements, and contracts effectively.
  • Effective Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills are essential. Clear communication with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders is crucial.
  • Loan Documentation Knowledge: Familiarity with LMA (Loan Market Association) loan documentation. Additional knowledge of LSTA (Loan Syndications and Trading Association) loan documentation is desirable
  • Language Skills: Fluency in German.

The Team:
Capital Markets operates through three key pillars: Debt Capital Markets (DCM), FIG Origination, and Structured DCM. This role sits within the DCM pillar as part of the LCM team.

Debt Capital Markets (DCM): The DCM pillar operates on a global basis and represents the following products and areas: Loan Capital Markets, public bonds, private placements (USPP, EUPP and SSD), Leveraged Capital Markets, and Ratings Advisory.

Loan Capital Markets (LCM): the LCM team at Rabobank London covers approximately 350 companies across the UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and the Nordics. Responsibilities include leadership in origination, structuring and distribution of corporate loans and bridge facilities. Strong relationships with corporate clients and relationship managers are essential, along with detailed technical knowledge of M&A financing for both public and private transactions.
