Department Overview
Golub Capital's Broadly Syndicated Loans Group ("BSL") curates well diversified portfolios of high quality syndicated senior secured loans. The group purchases assets in the syndicated loan market that are structured, arranged and administered by large commercial or investment banks. These arranged loans are sold broadly to institutional investors such as Golub Capital and tend to be liquid in the secondary market. Our team manages these investments primarily in a series of Collateralized Loan Obligations, Separately Managed Accounts and Opportunistic Credit Funds. The Broadly Syndicated Loans Team works closely with all Firm departments to ensure effective analysis, portfolio management and reporting.

Position Responsibilities
Golub Capital is seeking a credit-focused individual to join the Firm's European Broadly Syndicated Loan Asset Management platform in London. The individual will work as a generalist across credits within the European BSL portfolio. Primary duties and responsibilities include:

Financial Analysis

  • Leveraging knowledge of accounting principles, technology and other financial information and metrics to formulate credit opinions and evaluate risk
  • Developing financial models to drive fact-based decision making
  • Applying knowledge of accounting principles, technology and analytics to identify market trends and insights
  • Gathering and inputting financial data and ensuring accuracy of relevant transaction and financial information
  • Performing risk related financial analysis of legal documentation and industry trends to assist in comparison of risks and rewards associated with the sector speciality

Industry Knowledge

  • Monitoring industry trends and changes within relevant sectors / verticals and recognising their relevancy and implications from a credit evaluation perspective
  • Conducting research and gathering information on industry fundamentals, secular changes and regulatory trends within a sector / vertical to evaluate credit
  • Staying informed on assigned sector / vertical by attending conferences and industry events and reviewing third party research; sharing learnings with internal colleagues

Candidate Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education required
  • 10+ years of investment experience, with a successful track record in evaluating and investing in senior debt opportunities
  • Industry experience in one of Golub Capital's verticals is a plus
  • Ability to analyse and assess risk / return of new investment opportunities
  • Excellent analytical and research skills
  • Ability to independently drive projects to completion, while also functioning effectively in a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Preferably good comprehension of at least one European language, in addition to English
  • Enthusiastic about working in office and creating a Gold Standard hybrid work culture
