The Team

The Facilities Management team works cohesively with the Workplace and Corporate Services team to provide the highest level of support to both our clients and internal stakeholders.

Our strategy seeks to:

  • Prioritise the built environment to maintain our market-leading position in our areas of specialism.

  • Position our most senior staff as advisors to the business, supported by expert execution teams.

The Role

This role provides both operational and strategic support to the Facilities Management team, ensuring the delivery of exceptional, customer-centric services across multiple UK locations. It involves managing the Facilities Management team and third-party FM suppliers, influencing service quality and standards, and shaping initiatives for continuous improvement.

You will be part of the UK-based Senior Management team, working across 15 operational offices to deliver consistent service and ensure unused locations are appropriately maintained and secured.

Key responsibilities include leveraging internal and external networks, driving service improvements, managing budgets, and fostering collaboration across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct the Facilities Management team to deliver consistent, first-class facilities services aligned with internal and external customer needs.

  • Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of revenue and capital budgets; support Facilities Managers in managing location-specific costs and identifying efficiencies.

  • Oversee services including cleaning and maintenance of mechanical and electrical assets.

  • Act as the main point of contact for landlords, managing agents, tenants, and prospective tenants; ensure rent and service charge invoices are raised when appropriate.

  • Support and guide the Facilities Management team to lead, innovate, and implement change effectively.

  • Monitor and ensure adherence to SLAs; provide recommendations for improvement and deliver monthly operational reports.

  • Manage project delivery within agreed budgets and timelines.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders for efficient project execution.

  • Maintain regular contact with heads of office and other key stakeholders.

  • Build strong partnerships with key third-party suppliers.

  • Work closely with the Head of Health, Safety, Security & Environment to ensure compliance with relevant standards and legislation.

  • Lead reactive incident management and reporting.

  • Keep the Director of Workplace and Legal Support informed of strategic and operational developments.

  • Ensure the Facilities Management function is integrated with the wider firm.

  • Build relationships with global counterparts and share best practices.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Substantial experience in a relevant role and comparable environment, preferably within the legal industry.

  • Proven ability to develop and implement service improvement plans and strategically aligned projects.

  • Experience working at senior manager level with the ability to influence key business services groups and legal professionals.

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills: confident, diplomatic, team-oriented, and credible.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Tenacious and proactive in driving initiatives and motivating teams.

  • Willingness to travel across the UK as required.
