OverviewSister / Charge Nurse - Acute Medical UnitAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to support the Ward Managers and team of nursing staff within the Acute Medicine Unit at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. This comprises an Acute Medical Assessment (AMA)/Enhanced Care/Acute Medical Unit (AMU).Main duties of the jobSupport the Ward Managers and nursing team within the Acute Medicine Unit (AMA/AMU).Lead and supervise the work of the nursing team, building upon clinical and managerial experience.Assess and implement appropriate care for new and current patients while ensuring adequate staffing levels and appropriate use of resources.Maintain excellent communication and interpersonal skills; employ a proactive management style and respond constructively to changing workloads within a multidisciplinary team.Qualifications and experienceRegistered General Nurse (RGN) with extensive post-registration experience.Proven ability to supervise, manage and coordinate departmental activities in an efficient and effective manner.Ability to lead in an acute setting and contribute to continuous improvement of patient care and service delivery.Strong communication and interpersonal skills; flexible and adaptable in role requirements.Working for our organisationRole model for continuous professional behaviour and demonstration of the Trust core values.
