Sister/Charge Nurse - Coronary Care Unit 2 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants Job Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to support the Band 7 and team of nursing staff within Ward 6 Cardiology at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford. You will be an experienced RGN in Cardiology and able to lead and assess the work of the nursing team. The successful candidates will role model continuous professional behaviour, exhibit core Trust values, and demonstrate an enthusiastic, approachable and friendly manner towards patients, nursing and multidisciplinary team. Completion of the post‑graduate certificate in cardiac care is desirable. Responsibilities Instrumental support to Band 7 with continuous improvement of the department, monitoring and maintaining excellent standards of care reflected by patient experience. Day‑to‑day supervision of ward/department/team, motivating and directing staff, managing time and resources effectively. Ensure staff understand duties, responsibilities and standards of performance. Organise daily team deployments based on skills and experience. Maintain maximum bed base utilisation, facilitate admissions and timely discharge to meet EDD process and nurse‑led discharge. Receive calls from care coordinator centre, coordinate admissions into the ward, liaise with appropriate staff. Deputise for ward/department manager when necessary. Implement and review clinical practices with cost‑effective focus. Working for your organisation This opportunity is within the Coronary Care Unit at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford.
