Midland Mencap is seeking to appoint a Senior Coordinator to help manage and deliver our Community Wellbeing Service across Birmingham. Our service is continually evolving as we strive to achieve the best possible life outcomes for the people we support. To realise these ambitions, we need a Senior Coordinator who is achievement-driven, solution-focused, and confident in working with colleagues, citizens, families, and professionals at every level. We place great importance on integrity, strong ethical standards, and a commitment to excellence. This role demands consistent delivery of high-quality outcomes and the ability to foster a positive working culture that empowers citizens with a learning disability to reach their full potential. We welcome applications from candidates who thrive in a high-performance environment and can bring creativity, leadership, and management expertise to a role where no two days are ever the same. What Does A Senior Coordinator Do? Senior Coordinators are responsible for providing guidance, instruction, and support to Midland Mencap’s area coordinators and frontline staff. You will support the Service Manager in driving high-quality support provided by our frontline staff and for ensuring that the service meets its contractual obligations. This role requires you to ensure that we provide outstanding support to adults with a learning disability within their home environment and that they remain an active part of the local community. You will monitor that all Lead Workers are supporting citizens to find and sustain a tenancy, develop independent living skills, receive the correct benefits, maintain their health/wellbeing, and access employment, training, and volunteering opportunities. This role requires organisation and good time management. You will support the Service Manager by completing and monitoring reviews, support plans, risk assessments, rota management, staff supervision/appraisal, safeguarding and carrying out regular visits across the service. The ideal candidate will ensure the service operates in a person-centred way, enabling individuals to exercise choice and control over their own lives, reduce dependency and maximise independence. This role involves lots of problem solving in order that we make things possible for the citizens we support. There is a need to be creative, confident, and tactful in how you approach tasks and the wide variety of citizens, families and professionals you will encounter in the course of your duties. With the support of an experienced management team, you will have the capability to work on your own initiative, be comfortable lone working and ensure that comprehensive digital records are maintained. A minimum of 2 years’ experience working with people with Learning Disabilities. Essential Ability to plan and allocate the workload of support staff. Provide clear direction, guidance, and support to a team of Area Coordinators. Ability to demonstrate initiative and decision-making. Ability to maintain and embed all policies and procedures. Ability to interview and select potential staff. Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, citizens, carers, and other agencies. Ability to oversee and/or carry out Induction training. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to undertake a variety of numerical and administrative duties. Ability to support and supervise frontline staff individually and as a group. Demonstrate an understanding of confidentiality. IT literate and confident using mainstream software packages. Ability and willingness to foster flexible working practices. Car Driver with use of their own vehicle (to include Business Cover on Motor Insurance Policy). #J-18808-Ljbffr
