The Opportunity This is more than a sales job… It's a founding leadership role. You’ll have real ownership, influence over strategy and an opportunity to significantly shape the direction of a business that sits at the intersection of property, sustainability and tech. We need an exceptional individual to join us as our Founding Senior Sales Lead. This is a high-impact role in a start‑up environment: you’ll be helping in shaping and leading the commercial/sales arm of the business. You’ll work closely with the founders and leadership team to: Define and execute the go-to-market strategy for our core developer and consultant audiences. Build a best-in-class B2B sales function from the ground up: recruiting, training, process design, pipeline management. Close high-value deals with mid‑size and multinational property developers, major consultants, and strategic partners. Establish enduring strategic relationships and position Biodiversity Units UK as the partner of choice in the market. Leverage our unique strengths as the largest supply network, impartial advice model, and trusted delivery history and communicate them credibly to senior stakeholders. Influence how we use technology, data and automation in our sales and commercial operations to scale efficiently and effectively. What You’ll Do Lead and grow the sales organisation: build pipeline, manage forecasting, hit ambitious targets. Engage senior-level stakeholders: from heads of development and sustainability at top developers to strategic leads in advisory firms. Build strategic accounts: identify, win and expand high-value relationships with large developers and corporate clients. Define commercial processes: design and implement the playbooks, CRM workflows, forecasting frameworks and key performance metrics required for scaling. Collaborate across teams: work hand-in-hand with operations, supply network and the advisory team to ensure seamless client experience and delivery. Drive market insight and positioning: bring your market knowledge, competitor awareness and strategic mindset to shape our messaging, propositions and market approach. Champion technology and automation: help set the agenda for how our commercial muscle is enabled by data, tools and digital platforms. About You You have a proven track record of building or scaling a high-performing B2B sales organisation, ideally in a fast-growth or early-stage business. You have constantly exceeded your sales targets. You bring gravitas, credibility and confidence when selling into senior stakeholders at medium to large organisations (developers, consultancies, corporates). You’re commercially sharp, strategically minded and comfortable balancing long-term account development with hands‑on deal execution. You have an entrepreneurial mindset: ambitious, self‑motivated, excited by building something big from modest beginnings. You are comfortable with ambiguity, adaptable to evolving priorities, and thrive in a dynamic start‑up environment. You are tech-curious: keen to leverage CRM, AI, automation, data analytics and sales tools to drive performance. Experience in property development, land-use, sustainability, natural capital or environmental markets is highly desirable but your commercial acumen, proven sales leadership and growth mindset are the primary criteria. You’re a team‑player and culture‑shaper: ready to join a small but fast-moving founding team and help define our values, ways of working and ambition.
