Main duties of the job Our Clinical Nurse Specialists play an essential role in providing high‑quality, person‑centred care for individuals facing life‑limiting illnesses. Their role extends beyond direct patient care to include education, leadership, and advocacy. By combining clinical expertise, emotional intelligence, and leadership skills, they ensure that patients and families experience dignity, comfort, and peace during some of the most challenging times of their lives. Their work enhances the overall quality of palliative care and supports the healthcare team in achieving the best possible outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Palliative Care Nurse who wants to work in a supportive environment where the care of the patients comes first. Key responsibilities: Provide direct assessment, support, and advocacy to service users and carers dealing with complex, distressing and life‑limiting illnesses. Manage your own caseload, delivering expert care appropriate to the needs, wishes and culture of service users. Collect, collate, evaluate and report information, maintaining accurate service‑user records. Additional duties include: Educate staff and families on palliative care principles. Lead quality improvement initiatives within the hospice. Advocate for patients’ rights and preferences at all levels of care. About you You will have significant experience in Palliative and End‑of‑Life Care and will demonstrate advanced communication skills and a commitment to continuous professional development. You must hold a Full UK driving licence. About us Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice is in Oxenhope, near Keighley. We provide expert palliative care to people aged 18 and over with life‑limiting conditions such as cancer, heart failure and lung disease across Airedale, Wharfedale, Craven, and north Bradford. Care is delivered in our inpatient unit, and our CNS and therapies teams visit patients in their own homes.
