First Contact Physio/Clinical Specialist (Band 7) Join Airedale NHS Trust as a Band 7 physiotherapist in a dual‑role combining First Contact Physiotherapy and specialist MSK spinal care. Work 37.5 hours per week (20.25 FCP, 17.25 Spinal specialist), flexible across primary and secondary care. Deliver FCP services for MSK patients, triage, diagnosis, and management without prior GP referral. Lead advanced assessment and rehabilitation for spinal presentations, and support service development. Main Duties Manage an integrated MSK Physiotherapy/First Contact Physiotherapy Service: lead pathway development, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate clinical casework; provide specialist knowledge and support staff; partner with patients, carers, MDT and wider statutory/private/voluntary services; lead quality improvement; train staff and students; deputise operational and service managers; spinal focus. Recent postgraduate courses in MSK physiotherapy/First Contact Physiotherapy and leadership/management. Completed FCP training or prior FCP experience. Post‑graduate Diploma in Advanced Practice or equivalent. MSc or PhD in a relevant subject (desirable). Course in Professional Practice education, specialised course, or certificate in managing health services. Member of relevant professional or special interest groups. Leadership experience, team management, clinical supervision. Experience with multidisciplinary guideline development, audit, research. Experience of student training, audit/research projects, HR issues, flexible shift work. Knowledge of MSK Physiotherapy/First Contact Physiotherapy standards, governance, partnership working. Skills: digital technology, planning, organisation, communication, negotiation, analysis, presentation, Microsoft Office, audit, reflective practice. Professional attributes: self‑motivation, honesty, adaptability, energy, independence, accountability. Current UK driving licence and own transport.
