DPD is a Valuable 500 company and a Disability Confident Employer. Job Description We are recruiting an experienced and highly motivated HGV Breakdown and Service Advisor for our HGV Department. Responsibilities Ensure the roadworthiness and effective maintenance of all externally maintained Company HGVs and trailers, maintaining compliance with relevant legislation. Manage contracts with external maintenance providers, ensuring adequate facilities, competent staff, and regular compliance audits. Adhere to Service Level Agreement KPIs and manage repairs to keep Vehicle On Road (VOR) levels within agreed parameters. Assist the National HGV Maintenance Manager with aspects of the HGV External R&M P&L. Schedule and book planned maintenance, liaising with contractors, manufacturers and dealers to meet legal and safety requirements. Review and complete maintenance documentation, supporting a robust Driver Reportable Defect process and escalating overdue maintenance. Provide administrative support: ordering fuel, transferring vehicles, processing supplier invoices, issuing purchase orders, chasing workshops, quality‑checking paperwork, and maintaining records in the in‑house datalive system. Handle inbound and outbound calls from depots, drivers and customers to report faults, place jobs, and communicate repairs. Qualifications Excellent administration skills and ability to manage workload in a fast‑paced environment. High standard of computer literacy (Google Suite / Microsoft Office). Excellent communication and the ability to interact at all levels. High attention to detail and proactive team player.
