Children's Adventure Care Worker – Esland Location: Bly House – Burton-Upon-Trent Department: Residential Salary: £38,475 – £40,815 per year Hours: 4 days on, 6 days off (with sleep nights). Service operates 365 days a year; rosters given in advance. Description Be the stability a young person needs. Join Esland as a Children’s Adventure Care Worker and help shape brighter futures through care, intervention and activities. Bly House is a characterful family home based in the suburbs of Burton-Upon-Trent, providing an excellent setting for a therapeutic assessment home. Using a trauma-informed approach, the team provides intervention care that supports emotional healing and personal development for up to two young people at a time. Over a 12‑week placement, our assessment strategy helps us understand what is truly right for a young person and their needs. Every placement provides PACE principles, therapeutic care, access to education and the opportunity to participate in an outdoor adventure programme. The work and commitment of our teams helps us determine what support a young person requires and defines their next steps. Key Duties Support 8 to 18‑year‑olds in a residential care setting. Create a safe, nurturing, and fun environment where they can flourish. Plan and take part in exciting activities—from outdoor adventures to creative projects. Be a positive role model, helping build confidence, resilience, and life skills. Work as part of a passionate, supportive team that values every voice. Requirements Experience in a children's residential care home (highly desirable). A level 3 (or above) diploma in residential childcare (desirable). Experience within care, education, mental health support and/or youth activities (essential). A full UK driving licence (essential). Full right to work in the UK with no restrictions (essential). Values in line with Esland’s, such as taking a therapeutic, person‑centred approach to childcare (essential). A keen interest in outdoor and adventure activities (essential). Applicants must be aged 21 or above (essential). Successful employment is subject to satisfactory full enhanced disclosure, right to work and reference checks in line with government regulations and Safer Recruitment Practices (the company will cover the costs). *Estimated salary based on a pay rate of £12.75 to £13.75 per hour for days (depending on qualifications held) and working 12 sleep‑nights per month on average (at £60 per sleep night). **Terms and conditions apply.
