We are looking for a motivated, experienced and dynamic Ecology Team Leader to help us establish our growing ecology team.You will act as the Council's lead specialist on ecology and biodiversity, provide expert advice for a wide range of planning applications and strategic regeneration projects, as well as help progress planning policy documents. You will have the opportunity to develop and build strong partnerships with a wide range of organisations at national, regional, and local levels to ensure biodiversity is embedded appropriately in new development in the district.QualificationsA relevant degree (and chartered membership of CIEEM or equivalent)Strong knowledge of ecological legislation, biodiversity net gain, and planning processesSignificant experience working in ecology, including advising on planning applicationsExcellent communication, organisational, and conflict-resolution skillsThe ability to support and develop staff, manage budgets, and represent the Council at formal examinations or inquiriesYou will also be committed to continuous professional development and helping us drive service improvement.BenefitsWe offer a generous employee benefit package including 26‑32 days holiday plus bank holidays, free healthcare cash plan, flexitime and so much more.We value the diversity of our people and actively encourage applications from all sections of the community.
