Operating Department Practitioner / Anaesthetic Nurse - DSU Theatres The closing date is 10 December 2025 To provide the highest standards of patient care and ensure that these standards of care are delivered. To perform all general duties of trained theatre personnel and in addition any duty requiring special skill and ability within the surgical speciality. Assess and plan care needs and develop, implement and evaluate programme of care. Person Specification Education and Qualifications Completed and achieved ADNS/BA (Hons) Nursing Studies OR Registered Nurse with NMC Registration (for nurses applying) HE Diploma Operating Department Practice or ODP NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds 752/7. OR Registered ODP (for ODP applying) Experience Evidence of inter- professional working Completed competencies in Anaesthetics, Surgery & PACU (for ODP applying) Skills Ability to work autonomously Understanding the role of the theatre practitioner Ability to work as an effective member of a team. Effective handling of critical incidents. Have Knowledge of the care of the peri-operative patient Other Factors Able to work cross-site if required Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
