Join to apply for the Theatre Practitioner - Minor Ops/Endoscopy (Bank) - Circle Health Group role at Circle Health GroupTheatre Practitioner - Minor Ops/Endoscopy (Bank)Thornbury Hospital, SheffieldBank ShiftsSalary: Up to £25.00 per hourOverviewThis bank role works on an “as and when required” basis, supplementing staffing levels during busy periods and providing cover for existing staff during annual leave or absence. The role requires working with the surgical team and supporting the anaesthetist and recovery staff in a multidisciplinary environment.Duties of this role includeAssist the surgical team by preparing instruments, maintaining sterility, anticipating surgeon needs, and ensuring equipment safety.Support the anaesthetist in equipment preparation, patient monitoring, airway management, and positioning.Provide post‑operative care, monitoring vital signs, managing pain and nausea, and ensuring patient readiness for discharge.Adhere to infection prevention and control policies and procedures at all times.Set up operating theatres according to surgery type and specific patient requirements.Check all surgical and anaesthetic equipment prior to use and report faults immediately.Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve safe and efficient surgical lists.Support and contribute to a positive, respectful, and efficient theatre environment.Applicants should meet the following criteriaRegistered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC).Experience or training in a theatre environment in at least one area (scrub, anaesthetics, or recovery).Understanding of infection control, manual handling, and patient safety principles.Ability to work under pressure, problem‑solve, and respond quickly to changes in a dynamic environment.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to safe surgical practice.Must have experience of surgical scrub for minor ops procedures (hand and wrist, dermatology and gynaecology).Experience of endoscopy – clinical or as part of admission and discharge preferred.Salary & BenefitsCircle Health Group offers a competitive hourly rate.
