OverviewSupport Specialist - Accounting Software at FreeAgent. We are hiring for a Support Specialist - Accounting Software to join our Support Team in Edinburgh. The role involves providing exceptional customer support to accounting/bookkeeping professionals in fintech, with training and career development opportunities.ResponsibilitiesBe the first point of contact for customers via phone, email, and online chat, responding accurately and promptly to queries.Provide training to customers through outbound calls, including those on free trials and subscribers requesting further training.Proactively contact users to offer help and information about the product to aid decision-making.Assist users who are considering the product by providing more information to determine fit.Assist product teams by testing new features or upgrades to existing functionality.QualificationsDemonstrable practical accounting experience, with experience across payroll RTI, VAT, and Self Assessment from roles such as accounts assistant, accounting practice, bookkeeping, or similar.Strong knowledge of accounting processes, supported by practical experience.High computer literacy and tech-savviness; comfortable with online engagement.Aware of the bookkeeping and accounting software packages available to small business owners.Experience in delivering first-rate customer service.Additional InformationNote: Applicants aiming to complete CIMA or ACCA should be aware this role will not provide the practical experience required for those qualifications.Work PatternPermanent role (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm). Based in the Edinburgh office with an initial training period of at least 6 months.
