In this key role, you will oversee logistics planning and transport operations to ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective product movement.This is a great opportunity to make a lasting impact on our logistics performance, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to Nutreco’s mission of feeding the future through operational excellence.About the Role – Drive Operational Excellence in Transport and LogisticsResponsibilitiesOversee inbound and outbound logistics operations, ensuring smooth scheduling and vehicle managementManage the transport team, including planners, logistics administrators, gatehouse controllers and our loading and driving teamsLead relationships with logistics providers and off-site storage facilities, ensuring service quality and cost optimizationCoordinate transport scheduling for outbound and inbound loads, ensuring efficient use of the UK fleetSupervise the planning and execution of deliveries across the UK, with occasional coordination of international shipmentsWork closely with the on-site garage manager to ensure vehicle availability and complianceDevelop and monitor KPIs, ensuring continuous improvement in performance and safetyLead negotiations with third-party logistics providers, ensuring alignment with company objectives and standardsSupport and train team members, fostering a culture of accountability and growthCollaborate cross-functionally with Customer Service, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure smooth logistics executionQualifications and ExperienceMinimum 5 years of experience managing logistics and transport operationsProven track record in transport planning, fleet management, and logistics optimization. CPC qualification would be beneficial.Experience managing and developing teams in a fast-paced environmentADR (Dangerous Goods by Road) training or certification is a plusExperience with ERP systems (such as M3) and vehicle tracking/fleet management systems is preferredExcellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skillsExperience in the agriculture or animal feed sector is desirable but not mandatorySoft Skills like proactive, organized, and results-driven, with strong leadership and communication skills.
