Purpose of this role Manage the safe, effective operation of the distribution network. To provide a rapid response to faults, ensuring customer disruption is kept to a minimum. To ensure records are kept up to date as required. Key Responsibilities Confirm all documentation required for operational work is completed, recorded and submitted correctly and on time. Manage all electrical connections work requiring Operational Control of GTC’s networks. Confirm all documentation required for operational work is completed correctly. Undertake Technical and Safety Audits. Health & safety incident investigation and reporting where required. Instruction of contractors and direct staff with the installing, operating and/or repairing of the Electricity network and associated equipment. Liaison with representatives of other DNO’s undertaking connection and fault works. Act as officer in charge during an Electric interruption. Undertake Standby Duties. Qualifications City and Guilds Level 2 qualification in associated engineering subject. Current CSCS card. Experience / Knowledge Experience of electrical distribution network. Knowledge of health and safety legislation. Abilities / Skills Excellent verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and work to deadlines. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work both collaboratively and as part of a team. Ability to use Microsoft Office programmes or equivalent. Desirable HNC in associated subject. Member of Engineering Institution to Eng Tech Level. IOSH managing safely certificate. Experience in design, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance electrical distribution systems. Experience in Electricity Control Network environment and operations. Ability to identify process improvements. Ability to manage own time. Ability to work self-efficiently. Conditions of Employment You will be required to participate in a standby rota. You will hold a driving licence. What Can You Expect From Us Cost of living annual pay review. Company pension contributions up to 10% if employees contribute 5%. 33 days holiday including bank holidays with the ability to purchase an additional 2 weeks.
