The business was formed in 1992 and since CMB began it has established itself as a ‘no grief’ partner to national blue chip construction firms.The JobAs our business continues to grow, we are looking for an Electrical Estimator to join an established Estimating Team.As Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for evaluating project specifications, analysing electrical system requirements, and providing accurate cost estimates for electrical projects.The position plays a crucial role in ensuring our electrical projects are budgeted effectively and completed within the established financial parameters.Whilst experience and detailed knowledge are desirable, we also have a strong reputation for developing people. We remain a family business with family values and offer a working environment that supports hard work and encourages an enjoyable working environment.If this seems like something that would interest you, please get in touch.Duties & ResponsibilitiesReview and analyze project plans, specifications and electrical designs to prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labour and equipment.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.Work with the mechanical estimators to help produce robust and accurate M&E project tender bids.Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to determine the best value for the company and project.Prepare detailed written estimates, including breakouts for labour, materials and overhead costs.Assess potential risks and provide recommendations to mitigate cost overruns.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and regulations.Ensure estimates are aligned with client specifications, scope of work, and budget constraints.Provide support during the bidding process, including clarifying estimates and assisting with client enquiries.Track project costs during construction to ensure adherence to estimates, making adjustments as necessary.Maintain a comprehensive database of historical project data for future reference and cost comparison.What We Are Looking ForMotivated individual that can work as part of a team and to their own initiative.Ability to be proactive with tasks and dutiesExcellent communication skills and a proactive approach.Committed to following procedures and ensuring tasks are fully completed.Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detailAbility to use own initiative within the parameters of the role.Desirable / BeneficialProven experience (5 years) as an electrical estimator in a construction or electrical contracting environment.Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials and installation practices.Proficiency in estimating software (e.g. Trimble, Active Take-Off etc.)Familiarity in construction software (e.g. Accubid, Bluebeam, Procore etc.)Excellent understanding of construction codes, regulations and safety standardsExperience in setting up and using electronic document management systems.Strong analytical skills with the ability to review and interpret technical drawings and specifications.Good knowledge of Microsoft Software (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Ability to multitaskBenefitsCompetitive salary and benefits packageOpportunities for professional development and career growthCompany Pension SchemeHow to apply: If you are interested in applying for this role, please send a copy of your CV to Tomas Llasera via email to careers@cmbeng.co.ukClosing Date for CV’s: Friday 19 th September 2025 at 5:00pmDate for Interviews: W/C Monday 22 nd September 2025Please Note: Due to the overwhelming number of applications we receive, we may only contact candidates who have been shortlisted for an interview.We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if the demand in applications become high.We do not require assistance from recruitment agencies.CMB Engineering is an Equal Opportunities Employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr
