Sales & Distribution Manager Arcmed Cambridge, England, United Kingdom The Sales & Distribution Manager should be highly motivated and technically skilled to drive sales and expand our distribution networks. The Manager should possess a strong technical background in chromatography, scientific and diagnostic instrumentation, excellent sales and negotiation skills, and experience in managing and expanding distribution networks. This position involves identifying and developing customer relationships, growing sales revenue, and expanding a distribution network. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Design and execute strategic sales plans to boost market presence and achieve revenue goals. Manage and expand relationships with existing distributors, ensuring alignment with company strategy, pricing, and compliance standards. Identify, evaluate, and onboard new distribution partners in target markets. Develop joint business plans with distributors to drive revenue growth and market penetration. Work closely with operations to optimize inventory levels and maintain a balance between customer service excellence and cost efficiency. Develop strategies to reduce distribution expenses, enhance operational efficiency, and improve customer satisfaction. Achieve or exceed sales targets through effective distributor channel management. Monitor distributor performance using KPIs, pipeline reviews, and quarterly business reviews. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts in alignment with company guidelines. Respond to customer inquiries promptly and professionally to ensure effective service. Work closely with engineering to troubleshoot product-related issues, offering technical expertise and solutions as needed. Collaborate with engineering to deliver tailored solutions based on customer-specific requirements. Manage customer complaints and returns with professionalism, prioritizing resolution and retention. Gather and analyze market insights, competitive activity, and customer needs to inform business strategies. Collaborate with marketing to support product launches and distributor sales enablement activities. Provide distributor feedback to product management to support continuous improvement and innovation. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with supply chain, operations, and customer service to ensure reliable product availability and high customer satisfaction. Work closely with quality teams to ensure distributors have the adequate support to meet medical device compliance requirements. Support forecasting, demand planning, and inventory management for distributor accounts. Work as directed by Manager. Educational Requirements, Qualifications, and Trainings A minimum of 3 years’ experience in managing distribution networks in the medical or biopharmaceutical industry. Experience in technical component sales and solution delivery to OEMs, ideally within a background as an analytical chemist, laboratory technician, or service engineer in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology industries. Preferred expertise in chromatography and related components. A proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets. Exceptional skills in negotiation, communication, and presenting to diverse audiences. Strong ability to cultivate long‑term customer relationships and deliver outstanding customer service. Outstanding proficiency in spoken and written English. Comprehensive experience in all facets of key account management. Advanced literacy, numeracy, and computer skills, paired with strong technical aptitude. In‑depth understanding of customer and market dynamics and evolving requirements. Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time for business needs. Computer and Software Requirements Experience with Epicor a plus. Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, and OneNote preferred. Ability to operate media equipment such as tablets, smartphones, and other electronic equipment. Ability to work with general office equipment. Ability to work with and understand databases a must and the ability to learn technical skills. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Shall have adequate vision, reading, writing, and documentation skills, and hearing to perform the essential functions of the job. Must have enough endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time. Will be engaged in speaking, sitting, walking, driving, listening, and in communicating both orally and in writing while performing his or her duties.
