Role OverviewAs an AIR Physiotherapist, no two days are the same. One day you may run an ambulatory oxygen clinic in the morning and an outpatient clinic in the afternoon; the next day you could lead a Pulmonary Rehabilitation class and then provide training to carers on chest clearance at patients’ homes. The AIR physio team delivers Pulmonary Rehabilitation (face‑to‑face, at home and online), ambulatory oxygen clinics, outpatient clinics offering management for chest clearance, chronic cough and breathlessness, breathing pattern retraining, exercise advice and domiciliary visits.The chosen candidate will have a passion for respiratory physiotherapy and for helping those with chronic lung disease achieve the best possible health‑related quality of life. The role is extremely varied, based in King Edward VII, Windsor but covering East Berkshire through satellite clinics, home visits and community centre rehabilitation. A car and a driving licence are essential.ResponsibilitiesAssess care needs, develop, implement and evaluate care for people with respiratory conditions in both outpatient and domiciliary settings, and deliver Pulmonary Rehabilitation across East Berkshire.Run Pulmonary Rehabilitation assessments and classes, ambulatory oxygen clinics, domiciliary and outpatient clinics to assist patients with chest clearance, cough management, breathing pattern disorders and exercise advice.Work closely within the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to optimise care for patients under Early Supported Discharge and Admission Avoidance services, aiming to reduce admissions where possible.Utilise clinical, communication and interpersonal skills to identify the needs of people with respiratory disease and deliver culturally and socially aware care.Build your expertise from a foundational respiratory knowledge base toward becoming a Specialist Respiratory Physiotherapist, working independently within the MDT.Person SpecificationA passion for Respiratory Physiotherapy and respiratory health care in the community.Enthusiasm and dedication to deliver and support holistic sustained behavioural change in patients with chronic lung disease.Drive and ability for ongoing personal and professional development to optimally support your clinical practice and the services you are involved in.BenefitsFlexible working options to support work‑life balance.27 days’ annual leave rising with service, with the opportunity to buy and sell.Generous NHS pension scheme.Excellent learning and career development opportunities.‘Cycle to Work’ and car leasing scheme including electric vehicles.Access to a range of wellbeing tools and services.Discounts at hundreds of retailers and restaurants.Staff networks supporting race, diversity, disabilities, the environment and armed forces community to support equality.Generous maternity, paternity, adoption and special leave.Free parking across Trust sites.Equality and InclusionWe’re committed to equal opportunities and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
