Casual Kitchen Assistant – London Borough of Havering Position: Casual Kitchen Assistant (Entry Step Grade 1/2) – Salary: £6,707.87pa pro rata per annum (£28,221 - £29,436 per annum). Total hours: 10 hours per week, Monday to Friday during term time. Additional 4 cleaning days during school holidays. About the role Prepare, cook simple meals and serve food and beverages in accordance with Council contractual arrangements. Support the kitchen supervisor in all aspects of the food service and assume responsibility in the supervisor’s absence. Assist with cleaning duties during holidays. Key responsibilities Work under guidance of the Cook Supervisor or Higher Graded Operative. Assist with food preparation, cooking and plating. Maintain food safety and hygiene standards. Help with setting up and cleaning of kitchen and dining areas. Qualifications and requirements No direct staff responsibilities. Will work 10 hours per week during term time. Must be able to adhere to the staffing profile schedule.
