This is an exciting opportunity to join our forward‑thinking central procurement and finance team, where you’ll provide expert strategic advice and deliver end‑to‑end procurement services that directly support our ambitious corporate plan and strategic objectives.What will you be doing?As a senior member of the team you will be:An experienced team leader, leading and inspiring a team of four within our People and Resources business partner team, driving performance and supporting professional growth.Act as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders, influencing decisions and supporting major programmes across Council services.Shape and deliver a complex and varied procurement pipeline, balancing strategic priorities with operational delivery, supporting the Council to deliver its strategic objectives.Focus on ensuring robust governance, compliance, and risk management incorporating the latest changes in policy and legislation.Drive process development, including opportunities to innovate and add value.Champion our business partner model, raising the profile of procurement and ensuring best practice is consistently applied across the organisation.About youIf you are an experienced team leader with strong commercial acumen, public sector procurement expertise and knowledge, and the ability to build and develop relationships with key stakeholders, we want to hear from you.In return, you’ll join a collaborative and supportive environment, where you’ll have the autonomy to shape the way we work, the visibility to influence at the highest levels, and the support to continue developing your career.If this sounds like the right next step for you, we’d be delighted to hear from you.You can see our full list of employee benefits on our careers site.About usAt West Northamptonshire Council, it’s about our people.
