We are the independent regulator for England’s seas, professionally delivering service‑focused outcomes for our customers.ResponsibilitiesSupport the HR team with the organisation’s HR goals and operational duties across the HR department.Advise both employers and clients on recruitment of new staff and retention of existing employees, including interview techniques and job description writing.Train and advise managers on recruitment, selection and interview evaluation procedures (e.g. Oleeo).Support the implementation of HR technology solutions to improve day‑to‑day operations (e.g. Oleeo software & SSCL processes).Act as point of contact with SSCL (shared services provider) for HR queries.Develop and implement HR policies that align with the organisation’s goals and values, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.Resolve disputes and grievances between employees and managers.Provide first‑line HR support for all employees and serve as the first point of contact for HR queries within the organisation.Monitor and review absences, and support strategies to reduce sickness absent‑ness.Translate business requirements into people requirements and improve engagement.Carry out HR project work and support HRBPs with challenges.Coach and influence leaders in all aspects of HR – including E.D.I., leadership, employee engagement, capability & talent.Advise line managers and employees on employment legislation changes.Manage disciplinary and grievance procedures, advising managers and supporting investigations.Produce reports and manage data in the HR system, ensuring it is accurate and up‑to‑date.QualificationsStrong communication and organisational skills.Team‑player with strong interpersonal skills.Ability to work with management and non‑management individuals.Experience in HR recruitment, selection, performance evaluation or related areas.Successful candidates must undergo a criminal record check.People working with government assets must complete baseline personnel security standard checks.BenefitsAlongside a salary of £33,195, the Marine Management Organisation contributes £9,616 towards a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
