Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Finance Manager (FM), supporting the AWS Sales team for the Start Up customer segment. This is an exciting opportunity to join this successful business which is one of the fastest-growing businesses within Amazon. As an FM, you will partner closely with business leaders and their teams, providing strategic support by combining data and business judgement into insights, generating operational and strategic guidance and impact. Further, you will drive innovation to improve our tools, processes and business decisions. Key job responsibilities Ownership of key reporting metrics (KPI's) and narratives to help business partners understand the business performance Partner with business teams to implement new processes & tools and drive the improvement of existing processes & tools Provide strategic support to key business initiatives and investment Present financial summary and business insights to senior management Drive short- and long-term financial planning Tighten internal controls Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or a Bachelor's degree and experience in quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) Experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field Experience in multiple finance and accounting roles Experience in accounts receivable or account payable Experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses Experience in building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results Preferred Qualifications MBA, or CPA Knowledge of SQL/ETL Experience in identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan Experience in solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards) Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
