We’re looking for a proactive and detail-driven Senior QA/Test Engineer to join V-Nova and help shape the future of cutting-edge video codec technology. In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring the quality and performance of our next-generation encoder solutions. You’ll have the opportunity to take real ownership - driving test strategy, defining robust QA processes, and collaborating closely with our encoder team to identify, investigate, and report issues. Responsibilities Work as part of multidisciplined team agile team with engineers, technical lead, product and delivery managers, to provide a test function to project teams. Work with the team to create test strategies, plans, procedures, and execute manual and automated tests for project and product deliverables to provide assurance that they meet functional and non-functional requirements. Contribute improvement suggestions for V-Nova’s test and quality function and propose improvements to existing test QA test and automation solutions. Produce and maintain test solutions (scripts and frameworks) together with equipment and configurations for manual and automated test cases. Provide ongoing training and support to the engineers to enable effective and sustained adoption of the test and quality assurance practices. Provide clear updates, both verbal and in the form of test reports/summaries to provide project leads a clear status of products/project output under test. Your reports will form support for ‘go no go’ readiness decisions for project completion/product release. Skills & Experience 5+ years of commercial software QA experience including building, instrumenting and using automation system platforms and frameworks. Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to stakeholders effectively. Use and configuration of Android, iOS, Windows and Linux operating systems as target test platforms. Experience working with development teams to create comprehensive test plans for new features and product releases. Clear understanding of QA methodologies used within a software testing environment. Experience developing script to support testing preferably using Python, but other languages are fine. Comfortable working in an agile development environment and a collaborative mindset. Ability to prioritize and execute testing tasks efficiently at different development stages, aligning with project timelines and objectives while independently addressing and resolving issues found. Understanding of video and common compression features, particularly video – lossy, lossless, quality metrics, colour spaces. Understanding of video carriage solutions. Use of FFMPEG or other video solutions for video encoding/playback. Understanding of video quality metrics. Understanding of broadcast video techniques and technology – SDI, HD-SDI.
