Summary PRESS is on the lookout for a talented Management Accountant to support their Finance Director in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and systems. You will manage month end close, produce insightful variance analysis, and drive continuous improvement in financial processes and controls. In addition, you will oversee and develop one direct report, fostering their growth while ensuring the smooth delivery of day‑to‑day finance operations. Responsibilities Prepare accurate and timely management accounts, ensuring all balance sheet reconciliations and journals are completed to deadlines. Support the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with budget holders and the Finance Director. Perform detailed variance analysis, providing insightful commentary on key trends and performance drivers. Assist with cash flow forecasting and monitoring of working capital. Prepare ad‑hoc financial reports and analysis to support strategic decision making. Identify opportunities to improve processes, drive efficiency, and strengthen financial reporting. Oversee the day‑to‑day management of both AP and AR functions. Preparation & submission of VAT returns. Assist in the implementation and maintenance of financial controls and processes. Key requirements 3+ years Finance experience, preferably within a fast‑paced SME setting. Experience in the food and beverages industry a plus. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. A proactive approach with the confidence to suggest improvements and take initiative. Eagerness to learn and develop within a fast‑paced finance environment. Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills. Effective communication skills and ability to partner with non‑financial stakeholders. Good time management, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines. Strong Excel and financial modelling skills; experience with Xero desirable.
