Ideally, the Lean Engineer will have:

- Degree level qualification
- 2+ years’ experience gained from Manufacturing or Construction site experience with a focus on documentation/lean/process improvement
- Strong documentation skills
- Outgoing, team player with an ambition to progress rapidly
- Willing to travel to sites across the country

This will involve working closely with design, install and site teams setting up, writing & managing SOPs, investigating and proposing alternative engineering solutions to the delivery and installation (D&A) process. This will include exploring alternativeproduct designs, assembly, site tools, materials and other technology to bring lean manufacturing techniques to site based activities.

The junior lean site process engineer will support and lead end-to-end management of the SOPs and support with improvement initiatives, from analysis, business case development through to managing, executing and ensuring value realisation.

Demonstrating a passion and enthusiasm for process and product improvement, the Lean Engineer will drive new and alternative engineering initiatives, aligned to the emerging modern methods of construction approach, through problem-solving, project management,cost benefit modelling and collaboration with an existing diverse and passionate team.

Lean Engineer primary responsibilities:

- Process mapping, work studies of both internal and external teams to evaluate and identify cost reduction opportunities
- Coordinate & manage the documenting of SOPs, from initial write up to technical and site approval
- Investigate, propose and manage alternative engineering solutions to ensure process and cost efficiency
- Specify, configure and source such external equipment and products as is required for the delivery and installation processes
- Support developing standard work standards and line balancing for productivity
- Support executing LEAN manufacturing techniques and design to site activities

Lean Engineer additional experience:

- Experience of manufacturing, not necessarily in the Modular Building sector
- Knowledge of Lean and Agile manufacturing
- Experience of setting up and managing documentation process
- Construction experience is a benefit but not a requirement
- Project management skills
- Design experience with 2D or 3D CAD is an advantage but not essential
- Experience of working in an continuous improvement environment
