We are currently recruiting for a Homeless Prevention Advisor to join a Local Authority team in Camden. This is a full-time temporary role, where you will play a key part in preventing homelessness by providing expert housing advice and support to vulnerable individuals and families.

THE ROLE

As a Homeless Prevention Advisor, you will work closely with individuals at risk of homelessness, providing tailored advice and solutions to help them secure stable housing. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Conducting thorough housing needs assessments and developing personalised housing plans
  2. Providing expert advice on housing options, welfare benefits, and financial support
  3. Working in line with the Housing Act 1996 and Homelessness Reduction Act
  4. Liaising with housing associations, landlords, and support agencies to secure housing solutions
  5. Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with data protection policies
  6. Supporting individuals with employment, training, and wellbeing opportunities
  7. Collaborating with internal teams to maximise homelessness prevention efforts
THE CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role within homelessness prevention, housing options, or social housing. Additionally, you will have:

  1. Strong knowledge of housing legislation and homelessness policies
  2. Experience supporting vulnerable individuals and working with at-risk groups
  3. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly
  4. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a demanding caseload
  5. Experience working in partnership with external agencies and stakeholders
THE CONTRACT
  1. Temporary – 3 months
  2. Office-based role in Kings Cross, Camden
  3. The pay range for the role is £23.00 to £25.00 per hour LTD company rate. The PAYE equivalent is £19.61 to £21.31 per hour, inclusive of holiday.
